THE GUNAS: THE STRANDS OF YOGA
Explore your yoga practice through the lens of the Gunas, nature’s 3 fundamental forces. When you become aware of how the gunas (literally “strands”) manifest in your mind and body, you are able to establish balance and stability. Three workshops:
Saturday, 12-2:30pm Learn about the three Gunas, Rajas, Tamas, and Sattva. Understand how they manifest both on and o the mat, and ways to incorporate this awareness in your asana practice to cultivate equanimity. This energizing class particularly explores mindful dynamic movements.
Saturday, 3:30 – 6pm Continue to explore the gunas through asana & meditation. This class focuses on slowing down with restorative postures and yoga nidra (guided deep relaxation).
Sunday, 10am -12:30pm We finish with a well-rounded asana practice intended to instill the Sattvic qualities of a calm yet alert state of mind.
